This season, a trio of dis- tinctive beauty brands bypasses the usual sunsets and roses for more original sources of inspiration. Victoria Beckham fans rejoiced when the fashion designer announced her first makeup collection in collaboration with Estée Lauder (Saks Fifth Avenue, 800 Boylston St., 617-262- 8500; saks.com). The limited-edition line pays homage to Beckham's fave cities—London, LA, New York, and Paris—with curated looks that include a matte bronzer, an emer- ald-hued eye shadow, and a "perfect nude" lipstick. Makeup looks from the runway are sometimes too dramatic for the street— with the notable exception of Armani's Fall/Winter 2016 show. Created by Linda Cantello, the brand's international makeup art- ist, the Giorgio Armani (Neiman Marcus, Copley Place, 617-536-3660; neimanmarcus.com) eye shadows and face powder draw directly from the col- lection's fabric swatches and were used backstage. With his Lips & Boys series, Tom Ford (Neiman Marcus, SEE ABOVE) puts the men in his life on your pout. Introduced in 2014, the line has added 25 new shades named after men who have influenced the dashing trendsetter. Highlights include Jon, a shimmery deep plum, and Cristiano, a bright red.
