BY ROB KACHELRIESS After drawing more than 100,000 fans last year, the biggest block party in Vegas is back for its fourth annual celebration of music, art, food, and the ambi- tious spirit of Downtown. Here, art curator Charlotte Dutoit offers her don't-miss attractions: Big Rig Jig "It's two stories tall," says Dutoit of the sculpture of tanker trucks twisted together by artist Mike Ross. Find it outside the old Western casino, housing more than 100 exhibitions this year. Major Lazer "Their shows are colossal," says Dutoit. "Massive production and raw energy." The EDM chart-toppers share the main stage with Mumford & Sons and other headliners. Shepard Fairey Remember that iconic Barack Obama HOPE poster? Fairey is responsible for that, and is creating a Downtown mural that will stick around long after the festival wraps up. A Rabbit Rampage Amanda Parer delivers an "invasion of gigantic rabbits" that Dutoit promises will be a "must-see" piece of art. Location, Location, Location The festival is in the heart of the city—"where people live and hang out"—instead of the desert or a park that's miles away.
