STYLE ON THE MOVE 90 MICHIGANAVEMAG.COM PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBIN SUBAR PHOTOGRAPHY (GOLDEN); COURTESY OF WES GORDON (SKETCH); COURTESY OF MIH (JUMPSUIT); COURTESY OF MARION PARKE (SHOE) ABOVE: Kelly Golden (pictured with designer Gilles Mendel) is celebrating the next chapter of Neapolitan Collection with a variety of pieces designed exclusively for the new storefront, like a denim jumpsuit by M.i.h Jeans, a blouse by Wes Gordon, and heels by Marion Parke. WITH A BIGGER AND BETTER NEAPOLITAN COLLECTION, KELLY GOLDEN CONTINUES TO PUT HER STYLISH STAMP ON THE NORTH SHORE. BY MEG MATHIS GOLDEN TOUCH "When people walk into this, it's going to be a whole different experi- ence," says Kelly Golden of Neapolitan Collection's move to an 8,000-square- foot space. Nearly 14 years after opening her acclaimed Winnetka womenswear boutique, Golden is eager to service Neapolitan Collection's loyal clientele ("most of our customers are weekly; they come in to pick up something new, or to pick up alterations, or just to visit," she notes) on a whole new level. In addition to discreet private parking, the new location boasts nearly three times the amount of window displays than the previous shop on Elm Street; insid e, shoppers are greeted with dedicated shoe and handbag sections as well as more jewelry displays showcasing baubles by Sidney Garber, Fernando Jorge, Irene Neuwirth, and Monique Péan. After all, Golden says, fine jewelry is a natural evolution of the shop's "unique, special clothing"—and with a range of exclusive pieces created for Neapolitan Collection's new storefront (think embroidered denim by Brock Collection and blouses by Derek Lam and Wes Gordon), the fashions will stay fabulous as Golden continues to keep looking ahead with her eagle eye. "Initially, I thought the [new] space was more than what we want," says Golden, chuckling, "and I'm already outgrowing it." 560 Chestnut St., Winnetka, 847-441-7784; neapolitanonline.com .
