photography by Cory DewalD (women); barry breCheisen (Cave) I love the soundtrack of the city. From the low rumble-rumble of the L train past my window and the crash of waves at Oak Street Beach to the poppity-pop of fireworks at Navy Pier and the steady hum of conversation and laughter at hangouts all over town, the happy cacoph- ony of the noise I encounter every day in Chicago is like a symphony to me. Every season in the Windy City has its own particular playlist, too; for fall it's the rowdy cheers from Soldier Field as the Bears kick off a new gridiron campaign, and the rising applause from the city's culturati as another season of music, dance, and theater begins on Chicago's great stages. No applause is likely to be louder than for Hamilton, which makes its debut outside New York here in September for what is shaping up to be the theater scene's most-anticipated production in years. And Hamilton isn't the only buzz to be heard this autumn in the city—there's plenty more where that came from, and we've got it all covered in this, our Fall Fashion issue. There's the sizzle of our two cover stars, Paul Giamatti and Maggie Siff of Billions; the "ooh" and "aah" factor of the season's A-list see-and-be-seen spots; the chic song stylings of indie music darling Natalie Bergman of Wild Belle; and the moans of culinary pleasure that can be heard at our trio of Hawaii-inspired dining gems. Whether your passion is fashion or philanthropy, the tech world or the foodie world, listen up—because fall in Chicago is coming in loud and clear. Chicago all-stars: Celebrating with the incredible honorees at our Women We Love party at the Park Hyatt; with Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Michael Burke at Navy Pier during the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Chicago; and at our much-ballyhooed Art of the City party with Summer issue cover artist Nick Cave.
