Summer is my favorite time of year in Vegas, so nothing makes me happier than cele- With Vegas assistant editor Emma Trotter and account executive Kacie Turpenen at the grand opening of Sarar at The Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes brating all three months of it in one issue of Vegas magazine. Flip the page for my top picks of the shows, food festivals, restaurants with outdoor patios, art installations, and more to keep you occupied all season long. I don't know about you, but warm weather energizes me and makes me want to get out there and see and do everything. In Vegas, summer is a time when things finally slow down a bit, pool parties kick into high gear, and I say, "Bring on the mojitos!" Don't let summer pass you by without pushing your comfort zone and jumping into some of the adventure sports that make Nevada so special. I went zip-lining a few times while I was liv- ing in Costa Rica, but nothing prepared me for Boulder City's version (I am officially Follow me on Twitter at @abbytegnelia and on vegasmagazine.com. the unsportiest editor—I even required a special training wheel-like brake by the last line). Head on over to Flightlinez to meet Andrew, Cody, Eric, and John—if they can handle me, they can handle anyone. If you're a travel junkie like me, you've got your bags packed for a big trip. This year, I'm headed to Panama and Costa Rica for my tropical fix. In my suitcase? Bright summer fashions like those in our Caesars Palace feature, which I wouldn't dream of donning without a perfect tan, as doc- umented in this month's "You, Even Better." For plane reading, check out our "Desert Patrol" profile on Vegas native Vicki Pettersson and her new urban fantasy book series. But as much as I love to travel, I always love coming home to Vegas. This year, it will be just in time for our big nine-year anniversary bash at the Cosmopolitan's Boulevard Pool. We'll be celebrating with Kelly Rowland, who told us exclusive details about her exciting upcoming solo album. I couldn't be more thrilled that she'll be performing at our big event, which just may be the hottest party of the year! See you there!
