Residential communities all over the city are ready to compete with Strip resorts and even cruise ships as they raise the stakes for amenities and service. For two of its perk- packed condo buildings, developer DK Las Vegas has enlisted lifestyle director Evelyn Connors to create events like the monthly wine tastings at One Las Vegas (theonelv.com). "I have seen many new connec- tions made and friendships forged at these events," says Connors, who welcomes it when she's compared to Julie McCoy, the cruise director from TV's The Love Boat. "At our last Wine Night, an owner who just moved in mentioned she had some trepidation about attending because she didn't know anyone. "We really wanted to make it like a boutique hotel," says Eric Cohen, managing director of The Calida Group. "Of course, there's a really nice gym, game room, treatment room and tanning room, but the demo- graphic of the residents will also require certain services." Through an on-site concierge and an app, renters can arrange restaurant reservations, show tickets or a car and driver. "We can get their dry cleaning, car washing done, grocery delivery," Cohen says. "Anything you want to have done, we're going to do for you." At Elysian West (elysian west.com), The Calida Group's new rental community on Jerry Boutique call Competing with all the serviCes and amenities on the strip is tough for residential Communities. their answer: game rooms... spas... soCial nights... and even a "Cruise direCtor."
