Follow me on Twitter at @andreabennett1 and on vegasmagazine.com. photography by ray alamo (wynn); total SnapShot photoS (lopez) I recently attended our Winter Issue cover girl Jennifer Lopez's show, All I Have, at the Axis Theatre in Planet Hollywood. Just as I'd hoped, I lost track of all the costume changes. Transforming from bedazzled, Yankee cap-wearing Jenny from the Block to a red caftan draped incarnation of Celia Cruz to ball gown-meets-projection screen-clad ingénue, she reminded me of the Las Vegas Strip itself. Disrobing, rebuilding and reinventing, all against a backdrop of pyrotechnics and razzle-dazzle, we're a city in constant, fabulous flux. For those millions who visit once a year, it's like visiting a new city every time. The most substantial changes appeal to people who might actually like to socialize outside on the Strip… and even be reminded of where Las Vegas actually is (not Italy, not Paris, not Egypt)! Even for those of us who live here full-time, it's hard to get jaded. When it opens this month, The Park between Monte Carlo and New York-New York will take its cues from the Mojave Desert, with meta-quartzite stone sourced from a local quarry, a water wall inspired by our natural springs, and 200 full- grown desert trees, and flanked by restaurant and bar outdoor seating. And at Vegas magazine, we're taking a page from Vegas the city: In order to keep up with the fast pace of the city's costume swaps, we've added stories to bring you more culture, fashion, entertainment, and dining, as well as expanded real estate— and more on the way. andr ea bennett LETTER From THE EDITor-IN-CHIEF 30  vegasmagazine.com from left: I celebrated the launch of Kevyn Wynn's gorgeous indoor slipper line with her and lots of friends at the Wynn Collection; Jennifer Lopez and I have little in common, in that she can dance and sing for two hours and I get winded walking up the stairs. But we're both brand ambassadors for Brazilian shoe and accessories brand Carmen Steffens, whose shoes we both love to wear. That, unfortunately, is where our similarities end.
