How have you noticed gift-buying evolve? "Fifteen to 20 years ago, people were buying tons of collectibles—figurines and things of that nature. There's definitely less of that kind of buying now, but in its place you'll find something like jewelry." Why do you think that is? "People want every- thing in their lives to reflect their aesthetic. They want to express themselves in everything they do, and wearables are ways of accomplishing that." What's the biggest trend in gift-buying? "The craft movement has grown because people want products in their homes that reflect artisanry or workmanship that's unique and differ- ent.
