THE FIRST EDITION LITERARY GALA celebrated the Texas Book
Festival's 20th anniversary with record support and fundraising,
ensuring the festival itself is free and open to the public. The sold-out
event featured notable authors such as Margaret Atwood, Taye Diggs,
and
Daniel Handler (also known as Lemony Snicket). Proceeds from
the festive gala also support the Reading Rock Stars literacy program,
which provides author visits and book donations to low-income schools.
