THE SMITH CENTER FOR THE PER FOR MING
ARTS
was the site of the Las Vegas Fashion Council's
Artlive, a celebration of art and fashion benefiting
Downtown's future museum of contemporary art, The
Modern. The evening featured live and silent auctions, a
fashion show, and visual presentations assembled by local
artists, designers, and performers representing organiza-
tions such as Cirque du Soleil and Nevada Ballet Theatre. In
addition, the event paid tribute to two Vegas-based vision-
aries, artist
Tim Bavington and the
online retailer Zappos.
