"to eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." -franҫois de la rochefoucauld www.upshiftcreative.com Meat Heads Burgers & Fries Carnivores eat up the tasty brand image we created for a new fast-casual dining chain in Illinois. industry • restaurant deliverables • brand identity • logo design • web site design • signage/menus • restaurant interior concept • packaging design • uniforms • marketing & promos challenge Meat Heads, a fast-casual dining chain of restaurants in Illinois, specializes in high-quality quick meals prepared daily from the freshest ingredients, similar to Potbelly's or Chipotle. The backers of Meat Heads, Tartan Realty Group, challenged UpShift to create a modern, upscale brand identity program that would resonate with a broad range of suburban and urban targets and positioned the restaurant at the top of its category. solution UpShift executed a "soup-to-nuts" approach that included brand image, collateral, signage, uniforms, and promotions. To ensure that the concept got off on the right hoof, there was hardly a branded component that UpShift did not design. We even handled interior colors and furnishings. The result is old-fashioned steak joint meets classic American diner with every touchpoint working together. For humor: T-Shirts and other items say "Certified Meat Head", "Nice to Meat You" and, simply, "Carnivore". results All diners love Meat Heads because of the thick hand-pressed burgers made daily from Certified Angus beef and handcut fries. They also embraced the brand image and the interior design that UpShift created—more families, couples and working professionals than predicted are eating there, leading to even higher dining receipts. The Meat Heads work won awards from: • The Communicator Awards • Davey Awards • Graphic Design USA B L O O M I N G T O N , I L E S T. 2 0 0 7 www.upshiftcreative.com Highland Risk Services Dynamic identity conveys Highland Risk's commitment to customer relations and innovation. industry • insurance deliverables • logo/brand identity • marketing collateral • web site design challenge Highland Risk Services is an insurance wholesaler specializing in long-term care facilities. We were challenged to help them build a comprehensive brand image, create cost-effective communications, and build a polished website that highlights their hands-on, concierge approach to insurance brokerage. solution The brand image we developed conveys Highland Risk's traits of interactivity, communication, fresh thinking and expertise. The logo is a dynamic interaction of dots that form an H, representing the integration of insurance providers, brokers, end- consumers and Highland Risk staff. Cost-effective marketing tools include a brochure, white papers and an interactive web site. results The web site we built helped to streamline the quote request process. Online forms allow brokers to easily access, fi ll out and submit directly to Highland Risk's offi ce, eliminating the need for faxing and phone calls. The brand image we developed helps Highland Risk present the right image so that they can generate increased interest and sales. The Highland Risk web site was awarded by the W3 Web Awards. www.upshiftcreative.com Emerald Condominiums A lifestyle-driven brand backed by smart strategy changes the real estate game in Chicago. industry • real estate deliverables • logo/identity • brand strategy • web site design • marketing collateral • advertising • media buy • signage & billboards • event graphics challenge Emerald—a contemporary, 12-story twin tower condominium development in Chicago's West Loop—offers unobstructed views of downtown mixed with eco-friendly designer environs. An ultra-hip $4 million lobby with a luxe great room, fitness center, and private bar area rivals that of many hotels. Given our previous work for large corporations on a multitude of lifestyle brands, the developers trusted our insight to create an effective marketing approach for Emerald. solution UpShift hit the ground running—hired in February with an April sales center opening. It was go time. To communicate eco-friendly aspects of Emerald, we used a unique shade of chartreuse green as a branding element lavished at every touchpoint. All communications feature lifestyle imagery that ooze energetic nightlife and eco-friendly appeal: large martini, sexy models and bamboo. Our work went beyond traditional graphic design to include event planning, media buy and fulfillment of early buyer perks. results Just as important as the design was UpShift's innovative media buy strategy. Emerald connected with buyers 24/7, where they live, work and play. We changed the way real estate is marketed in Chicago. Emerald is more than a building, it's a lifestyle. As a result, other developments floundered while Emerald sales soared. We received awards from: • Chicagoland Home Builders Assoc. • Logo Lounge • Service Industry Ad Awards • National Homebuilders Association 312-750-6800 www.UpShiftCreative.com UpShift your branding and communications "The Original" State Street 1050 N.
