To a degree, it's become the new black." —HEDY WOODROW PHOTOGRAPHY BY LEILA NAVIDI n a testament to the versatility of Pantone's Color of the Year, emerald designs line the walls of Wynn's upscale women's boutique Outfit (702-770-3465; wynnlasvegas.com), which carries leading designers such as Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Valentino, and Jason Wu. Hedy Woodrow, Wynn's senior vice president of retail, finds that local stylesetters indeed favor the jewel tone. "While this is Las Vegas, we are still sensitive to the fashion trends out there," she says. The shop's many options include a long-sleeved Roland Mouret dress in an emerald leopard print, a one-shoulder Monique Lhuillier gown, and an assortment of embellished green sunglasses from Chanel, Bulgari, and Oliver Peoples. "Our customer is a very high-end, sophisticated woman who still wants to be a little sexy at times," Woodrow explains. "Emerald is a very forgiving color. A lot of body types can wear it. To a degree, it's become the new black." Indeed, up and down the Strip, shoppers are finding designers' most recent collections in saturated shades of green. While the women's pieces range from Narciso Rodriguez's barely-there slip dresses to Calvin Klein's structured leather minis, the men's offerings include Burberry's hunter trench coats, Gucci's versatile knit pullovers, and Elie Tahari's sporty leather bombers. "It's a refreshing change from the obvious fall color palette, and it works on almost every skin tone," says local stylist Jenna Doughton. She recognizes that headto-toe color isn't for everyone, though, and suggests starting small by adding a pop of ABOVE: Mojitos at Wynn. color with a great statement accessory, like LEFT: A slip from Narciso Rodriguez's Fall/Winter Eddie Borgo's green tassel earrings or a 2013 collection. punchy green clutch. And for men, she adds, "There is an incredible camo pony-hair slipper by Jimmy Choo that I cannot stop obsessing over. It's super slick." On the men's side at Wynn, Woodrow finds an array of emerald options, including Ermenegildo Zegna's crewneck pullovers and Maison Martin Margiela's cashmere V-necks, at the men's shop Mojitos (702-770-3545; wynnlas vegas.com). "We have the gentleman who goes to the nightclubs and who is looking for something a bit more hip, like our Viktor & Rolf, Margiela, and Zegna," she says, "but we also have the guy who likes yachting and appreciates [Mojitos'] assortment of Paul & Shark." In addition to its lightweight emerald knitwear, the upscale boutique currently carries exclusive designs, like a rock 'n' roll Viktor & Rolf embellished suit.
