...WITHOUT WHOM THIS ISSUE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE LATE FALL 2013 Lindsay Lambert Boston-based writer and editor Lindsay Lambert covers a variety of luxury lifestyle topics, including home design, fashion, travel, and food. A graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School and the former editor of Northshore and Ocean Home magazines, Lambert has written for Elite Traveler and Luxury Travel Advisor, and she currently works as an editor at Rue La La in Boston. She wrote about Michael DiGiorgio's exclusive supercar club in "Haute Wheels." What's your dream car? "An Aston Martin DB5, like the one James Bond drove in Goldfinger." What do you have a passion for collecting? "Locally made pieces of art from my treasured travels over the years." Bryce Vickmark events are you looking forward to this season? "ARTcetera at the Park Plaza Castle and the Peabody Essex Museum gala. You can't take a bad picture when you're surrounded by fine artwork." What is the key to taking a perfect social shot? "Being able to observe the guests without them knowing you're there. Capturing a real moment is better than trying to create one." What else have you been focusing your camera on recently ? "I'm admittedly obsessed with Instagram because I finally have an outlet to share my travel photography. This summer I visited Paris, Normandy, and Rome all for the first time, posting pictures at each stop along the way." 32 Steve DeOssie This former NFL linebacker grew up in Boston and lives in Charlestown. He's a restaurateur, cigar bar owner, avid golfer, and even more avid Harley rider. DeOssie has been writing and talking about sports (both on radio and television) in Boston and across the country for the past 17 years. He wrote this issue's cover story on Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots. What did you find most striking about Mayo? "Anyone meeting Jerod Mayo for the first time would not know by his demeanor that he is one of the more intense linebackers in the NFL." What has made him the player he is today? "I have never met a linebacker that good who has it that together outside of football." PHOTOGRAPHY BY MICHAEL BLANCHARD (SELF) Michael Blanchard This Newton-based photographer is a fixture at New England's most exclusive events. Blanchard picked up a camera five years ago to help photograph a friend's new charity and hasn't put it down since. He captured the very best parties this summer in Invited. What When he was 10 years old, Vickmark saw a PBS program about time-lapse photography and was hooked. He's worked as a freelance photographer since 2002; his clients include the New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal. In this issue, he shot Chris and Ken Himmel from Grill 23 for On the Town. How did this photo shoot differ from last issue's On the Town? "The cuisine. Different food evokes different emotions." What is your favorite Boston food memory? "My wife and I ordered a large sushi boat and didn't realize how big it was. Once we finished you could set sail on it."
