As the largest fundraising event for the non-profit organization, the soirée featured FOX 5 anchor Jason Feinberg as emcee, entertainment from headliner Zowie Bowie, a live auction hosted by KLUC's Chet Buchanan, plus a silent auction. Nearly $90,000 was raised to assist domestic violence victims and their children and animals. The Shade Tree provides 24/7 shelter access to women and their children free of charge (regardless of the duration of their stay) as well as an animal shelter at the same location.
