As racecar enthusiasts of Aspen (established as the cradle of sports car racing in the Rocky Mountains in the 1950s) and the international auto racing circuit prepare to kick into high gear this summer, the world of haute horlogerie continues to be inspired by the sport. In fact, wristwatches and cars have been inextricably bound since the first recorded 108 auto race, from Paris to Rouen in 1894. The two arenas share a need for precision timing and excellence in engineering.
