FASHION 411 on par HIT THE COURSE LIKE A PRO IN BOGNER'S NEW SUPERIOR GOLF ATTIRE. casual cool SUMMERS IN ASPEN SUGGEST MORNING HIKES up the Hunter Creek Trail, casual outdoor luncheons with friends, and afternoons spent golfing at the Maroon Creek Club. German lifestyle brand Bogner is revealing a golf project of its own, debuting its latest collection of men's athletic apparel. Inspired by the vibrant coastal scenery of the Côte d'Azur, the polo shirts and trousers feature color blocking, stripes, and boating flag motifs in navy, sand, royal blue, and tangerine. Standouts of the collection include the stand-up collar jacket, slim-fit gabardine pants, and ripstop vests, all of which come in lightweight, waterproof fabrics ideal for a day on the course. A hooded cotton knit sweater makes the ultimate windbreaker for Aspen's more inclement summer days, while a polo shirt decorated with the geographical coordinates of St-Tropez brings the lively spirit of the European shores to our putting greens. "Our goal has always been to put together an astutely edited selection of casual Aspen lifestyle sportswear with our unique point of view," explains the boutique's co-owner, David Fleisher. "We scour the US and European markets to assemble this collection." Focusing on classic designs with a contemporary bend, the shop boasts knitwear, denim, pants, and outerwear from leading brands, including John Varvatos, Rag & Bone, and Vince, as well as, most recently, menswear from Paul Smith and Billy Reid. "We added Paul Smith because I like his quirky point of view and whimsical use of color in accessories," notes Fleisher. Cast in lively stripe, dot, argyle, and skull patterns, simple wardrobe pieces like socks, cuff links, wallets, and cashmere scarves take on a playful spirit. "We're adding Billy summer into the cooler fall months. Reid this fall because he pairs his Southern casual roots with a sophisticated European take," Fleisher says. "Originally selected for Daniel Craig to wear in the movie Skyfall, Reid's navy peacoat is fall's must-have wardrobe staple." Before transitioning into fall, Fleisher recommends that men celebrate the warm weather and experiment with color—from bold neon hues to neutral khakis, blues, and military shades. 520 E.
